Born in Wisconsin, my journey with the cello began as a personal exploration and grew into a life woven from music, mindfulness, and movement. My foundational teaching years in Madison, Wisconsin prepared me for a transformative chapter abroad, where I shared the language of the cello in the classrooms in Hefei, Shanghai, and Guangzhou, China. This path of teaching and performance has stretched across continents -from volunteer projects bringing music to Cebu and Haiti, to concert halls in Germany, Austria, and across the United States-fulfilling my motto: "Have Cello , will travel."I am deeply proud of my students who now grace professional stages, a testament to our shared dedication. My approach to life and music is gently guided by the wisdom of the Tao Te Ching , finding resonance between focused stillness of meditation, the healing quality of music, and the cello's voice in all life's ceremonies, from weddings to funerals. Whether playing for a social cause, a silent retreat, or a solitary practice , I seek to connect the profound quiet within to the universal song we all share.
